John Laws, Principal of Career Catalyst, began noting the difficulty in acclimation and retention of new hires during his 32 year career with Hallmark Cards. Then, his time and experience with Right Management Consultants, further confirmed the need for addressing workforce readiness, culture adjustment and productivity. He has capitalized on his background, education, and experience, with young professionals and their managers to enhance communication, engagement and meaningful relationships. The focus is on “reciprocal reinforcement” between manager and young professional, impacting mutual effectiveness.
John earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Pittsburg State University and a Master’s degree in management from Baker University where his thesis on organizational change was recognized as a “Model Thesis” by the university.
Additionally, he has completed course work at the University of Michigan, the University of North Florida, and the Levinson Institute in Boston. While at Hallmark, he completed a senior management executive development program at the University of Kansas.
